06. Change the flow direction to increase the lifespan method

The flow-open type flows in the opening direction, and cavitation and erosion mainly act on the sealing surface, which quickly damages the valve core root and the sealing surface of the valve core and seat; the flow-close type flows in the closed direction, causing cavitation and erosion. After throttling, below the sealing surface of the valve seat, the sealing surface and the root of the valve core are protected and the service life is extended.

The valve pretending to be flow-open type, when the problem of extending the life is more prominent, only need to change the flow direction to extend the life by 1 to 2 times.

07. Use special materials to increase lifespan

In order to resist cavitation (damaged shape like honeycomb dots) and scouring (streamlined small grooves), special materials resistant to cavitation and scouring can be used to make the throttle. This special material includes 6YC-1, A4 steel, Stellite, cemented carbide and so on.

In order to resist corrosion, it can be changed to more corrosion resistant materials with certain mechanical and physical properties. This material is divided into two types: non-metallic materials (such as rubber, PTFE, ceramics, etc.) and metal materials (such as Monel, Hastelloy, etc.).

For the two-position control valve, when the operating frequency is very frequent, the diaphragm will quickly rupture during the up and down folding, and the damage position is often on the circumference of the tray.

The simplest and most effective way to increase the life of the diaphragm is to reduce the stroke. The reduced stroke value is 1/4dg. Such as the valve of dgl25, its standard stroke is 60mm, which can be reduced to 30mm, a 50% reduction.

In addition, the following factors can also be considered: reduce the pressure of the membrane chamber as much as possible under the conditions of opening and closing; improve the smoothness of the joint between the tray and the membrane.
