Precautions In Valve Operation

① For high-temperature valves, when the temperature rises above 200oC, the bolts will be heated and stretched, which will easily make the valve tightly sealed. At this time, the bolts need to be "hot tightened". When the temperature is tight, it should not be carried out in the fully closed position of the valve. In order to avoid the valve stem from top dead, it will be difficult to open later.

②In the season when the temperature is below 0oC, when stopping and stopping the water valve, pay attention to opening the threaded plug at the bottom of the valve to drain the condensed water and stagnant water to avoid freezing and cracking the valve. For valves that cannot eliminate stagnant water and valves that work intermittently, attention should be paid to heat preservation.

③ The packing gland should not be over-tightened, and the flexible operation of the valve stem should prevail. It is wrong to think that the tighter the gland is pressed, the better, because it will accelerate the wear of the valve stem and increase the operating torque. Without protective measures, do not replace or add fillers under pressure.

④In the operation, the abnormal phenomenon found by listening, smelling, seeing and touching should be carefully analyzed by the operator. If it belongs to the solution, it should be eliminated in time. If a repairman is required to solve it, don't force it to avoid delaying the repair time.

⑤The operator should have a special log or record book, pay attention to record the operation of various tower type valves, especially some important valves, high temperature and high pressure valves and special valves, including the valve transmission device, and record the failure of the valve. Its reasons, treatment methods, repairers themselves, repairers wading through mountains and rivers, and manufacturing plants are all very important. The establishment of a special log with clear responsibilities is conducive to strengthening management.
