Whether the steam trap is installed properly has a direct impact on the normal operation of the steam trap and the production efficiency of the equipment. The installation of the steam trap must be in accordance with the formal installation requirements in order to achieve the best efficiency of the steam trap and equipment.

1. Before installing the steam trap, be sure to purge the pipeline with pressurized steam to remove debris in the pipeline.

2. A filter should be installed before the steam trap to ensure that the steam trap is not blocked by pipeline debris, and the filter should be cleaned regularly.

3. Valves should be installed before and after the steam trap to facilitate the steam trap at any time.

4. The condensate flow direction should be consistent with the arrow mark on the installation of the steam trap.

5. The steam trap should be installed at the lowest point of the equipment outlet to drain the condensed water in time to avoid vapor lock in the pipeline.

6. If there is no steam trap installed at the lowest point of the equipment, add a backwater elbow (condensate lifting joint) at the lowest position of the water outlet, and install the steam trap after raising the condensate level to avoid vapor lock.

7. The outlet pipe of the steam trap should not be immersed in water. (If it is immersed in water, drill a hole in the bend to break the vacuum and prevent the sand from sucking back.)

8. The mechanical steam trap should be installed horizontally.

9. Do not install steam steam traps in series.

10. Each equipment should be equipped with its own steam trap.

11. Thermostatic type steam traps need a supercooling pipe of more than one meter without heat preservation, and other types of steam traps should be as close to the equipment as possible.

12. When selecting steam traps for drum-type drying (with siphon) equipment, please specify: Use steam traps with anti-vapor resistance devices to avoid vapor locks.

13. If condensate is recovered after the steam trap, the outlet pipe of the steam trap should be connected to the main pipe from above the recovery main pipe to reduce back pressure and prevent backflow.

14. If there is condensate recovery after the steam trap, pipelines with different pressure levels should be recovered separately.

15. The condensate recovery main after the steam trap cannot climb, which will increase the back pressure of the steam trap.

16. Install a check valve before the condensate after the steam trap enters the recovery main pipe to prevent the condensate from returning.

17. Install a steam trap on the steam pipeline. The main pipeline should have a condensate collection well close to the radius of the main pipeline, and then use a small pipe to lead to the steam trap.

18. If the mechanical steam trap is not used for a long time, remove the drain screw and drain the water to prevent freezing.

19. If the steam steam trap is found to run off, it is necessary to drain and clean the filter in time, check frequently according to the actual use, and repair it at any time if there is a fault. Overhaul at least once a year to remove impurities inside.

The steam trap is regarded as a small accessory in the entire steam system, but it has a great impact on the work and economic operation of the system. Therefore, the maintenance and repair of the steam trap is also very important. Only the important role of the steam trap in production is fully emphasized.
